This course included five days of intense functional training with 10 different Air Force Specialty Codes and culminated with a two-day RADR exercise to test airfield recovery skills in a contingency environment. The team offered mission critical training in a way that minimized operational disruptions amidst mandatory COVID-19 movement restrictions.ĭespite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, this unique mobile training curriculum aids Airmen in maintaining combat readiness against ever-looming threats. By sending the MTT to South Korea instead of receiving students at home, the 554 RHS helped save funding costs as well as thousands of man-hours. The 15-person MTT trained more than 112 Air Force and Navy students from 15 August to 19 September. The purpose of the course was to teach Airmen the entire range of Rapid Airfield Damage Recovery (RADR) operations. This summer, a Mobile Training Team (MTT) from the 554 RHS traveled to Osan AB, South Korea, to host a seven-day expeditionary training course. In 2007 he became the 158th Vice Commander. In January 2006, he commanded the 407th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, Ali Air Base, Iraq maintaining Air Force facilities and airfields. He led the squadron on two deployments for training opportunities, one to Wake Island and the second to the Southwest border. He became Base Civil Engineer in 1998 and assumed command of the squadron in 2004. In 1991, he was commissioned in the Vermont Air National Guard as a member of the 158th Civil Engineer Squadron. He transferred to the US Navy Civil Engineer Corps in 1985. General Clark became a fully qualified Surface Warfare Officer in 1983. These two deployments were heavily involved in operations in Beirut evacuating civilians and providing security for the US Embassy. He deployed to the Mediterranean twice as part of Marine Amphibious Readiness Group (MARG) 2-82 and 2-84. General Clark was first commissioned in the United States Navy in 1981 as a Surface Warfare Officer. General Clark also serves as Deputy Director of the Joint Staff for domestic operations and as the Air National Guard’s Northeast Region Chair for the Strategic Planning System. In this capacity, he provides command guidance and direction concerning Air National Guard personnel, administration, training, operation, recruiting, retention and budgetary matters. Clark is currently serving as the Chief of Staff - Air, Vermont National Guard.
